I find little reason to develop games for consoles in the normal game (except Gameboy), until the Playstation and XBox, so I figured this mode would make consoles more viable with built-in DRM and the fact that you have to buy a licence, plus pay more to develop for them compared to 5k on PC. I realise it's not supposed to be totally realistic, but some kind of built-in DRM for consoles would make sense and help make them somewhat relevant. Game Dev Tycoon was created by Greenheart Games, which was founded in July 2012, by brothers Patrick and Daniel Klug with an agenda to develop games that are 'fun to play instead of mind numbing money grabbers. I should've realised when it didn't even unlock the level 1 achievement. Calling it a terribe game mode might've been extreme, apologies for that, but it was right after multiple attempts at beating it without mods, only to find I didn't even get the achievement.
